BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Royals made the short trip down 42 on Wednesday, for another installment of the Poultry Road Rivalry.
It was the Eagles picking up the win in game one, beating EMU 7-2. In game two, the Royals were trailing 1-0 in the top of the fifth, but had the tying run on second base, when the game was halted due to rain. It will be resumed at a later date.

Highlights
- Samantha Hensley picked up a two-out hit against her former team in the top of the first, but nothing else was doing for the Royals. BC was able to get on the board in their half of the first after a two-run homerun from Delaney Lail. The Eagles added three more in the bottom of the third on a solo homerun, RBI triple and RBI single.
- Destiny Jones and Aspen Jones each picked up base hits in the fourth and fifth, but the BC pitcher kept her shutout intact. Bridgewater then added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, and had a runner on second that would have ended the game early, but Cyzick picked up two big strikeouts to keep the game going.
- The Royals were able to chip into the Eagles lead in the sixth, after singles from Hensley, Grace Fravel and D. Jones loaded the bases. Back-to-back walks to Braxten Jones and Emerson Adkins plated a pair of runs before a groundout to short ended the frame. Taylor Umberger reached base with a base hit in the seventh, but a line out and a strikeout ended the game.
