BREVARD, N.C. - The Royals headed south on Saturday, looking for win #2 in as many games, as they took on the Tornadoes of Brevard College.
A 5-1 third quarter gave EMU an 11-10 lead heading into the final frame, but BC used a pair of fourth quarter goals to pick up the 12-11 win.

First Quarter
Brevard got on the board less than 30 seconds into the game, when a free position shot found the back of the cage. But EMU responded, with
Cristal Narciso picking up a save and then at 9:29,
Amber Bonds took a pass from
Courtney Crawford and beat the Tornado keeper to tie things at one. Narciso picked up four more saves in the quarter, and
Shayleigh Sims picked up a goal, with another assist from Crawford, but BC was able to add three more goals and lead 4-2 after one.
Second Quarter
Ainsley Clark pulled EMU within one just 47 seconds into the second quarter, when she put her shot past the BC keeper, with Crawford adding another assist. A pair of Tornado goals sandwiched another Clark goal before
Angel Hines added a score for EMU, to cut their deficit to just one again, 6-5. Crawford got tired of all the assists and scored her first goal of the game to tie things at six, but Brevard ended the quarter on a 3-0 run and took a 9-6 lead into the half.
Third Quarter
The third quarter was all EMU as Narciso picked up four saves, allowing just one goal, while EMU took a lead with five in the frame. A pair of Crawford scores sandwiched the lone Brevard goal, before Hines and Bonds went back-to-back to tie things at 10. With just 11 seconds left in the quarter, Crawford picked up her third goal of the game and gave EMU their first lead of the game.
Fourth Quarter
Narciso picked up three saves in the fourth, with Brevard scoring just two goals. But BC's defense held EMU to just six shots overall, with the Tornado goalkeeper picking up two saves and keeping EMU from scoring. BC took the lead with a goal at 5:06 and held on the for win.

What's Next
EMU will have a couple of weeks off before their next game, opening up their ODAC schedule at home on March 12 against Washington and Lee. First draw is set for 7:30 pm.
