Highlights
First Quarter
Waynesburg got on the board first, but it didn't take long for Clark to make her presence felt, scoring her first collegiate goal just over a minute later to tie things at one. Three minutes later, Crawford took a pass from
Alex Palizzi and beat the Yellow Jacket keeper, giving the Royals a 2-1 lead. Narciso came up with a save at the 2:08 mark and EMU took a 2-1 lead to the second quarter.
Second Quarter
The Yellow Jackets scored two quick goals out of the quarter break, but after a green card on Waynesburg, Clark grabbed one of her 10 ground balls, and later found Bonds for the man-up equalizer. Less than a minute later, Waynesburg retook the lead, but once again, EMU responded, this time with two quick goals from Palizzi and
Shayleigh Sims, to pull ahead 5-4. Narciso came up huge, adding four saves in the quarter, the final one coming with two seconds left, to keep the Royals ahead at the half.
Third Quarter
Angel Hines got in on the scoring action, giving the Royals a two-goal cushion less than three minutes into the third. The teams traded goals with Crawford adding another for the Royals before Waynesburg answered with another, putting the game at 7-6 EMU. EMU extended their lead with the Bonds/Crawford connection, with Bonds picking up two and Crawford adding one and an assist, to extend EMU's lead to 10-6 after three.
Fourth Quarter
EMU came out shooting in the fourth, with Crawford adding another goal and another assist, this one to Clark on her second goal, for a 12-6 lead. Waynesburg was able to add one more goal, but EMU answered with another one of their own, Crawford's fifth of the day, to get to the final score.
