Women’s Triathlon Concludes 2024 Season at Nationals

CLERMONT, Fla.- The EMU Women's Triathlon team sent three athletes down to the Sunshine State for the 2024 Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships, held at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Fla. The race consisted of a 750-meter swim time trial, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 5k (3.1 miles) run.
 
Though unable to replicate their third-place team showing from a season ago, the Royal triathletes still came away seventh in Division III with a team score of 58 points. North Central College repeated as national champions with a team score of 525 points, and Hailey Poe of North Central took home the individual national title in a time of 1:05:03.

Highlights
  • Zoe Clymer, a sophomore from Collinsville, Miss., placed 21st overall among DIII athletes, posting a cumulative time of 1:17:53.
  • In her first national championship race, first-year Ella Richer finishing 38th out of all DIII athletes, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:26:45.
  • Jenna Weaver also competed for the Royals but was unable to finish. Weaver, a senior from Harrisonburg, leaves a lasting impact on EMU Triathlon, earning All-American honors at last year's national competition.
What's Next
This concludes the season for EMU Women's Triathlon. Weaver is the lone senior on the squad, with everyone else slated to return for 2025.
