VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - EMU made the long trip east on Saturday, heading to Virginia Beach on a business trip against Virginia Wesleyan.
The Marlins used a trio of first half goals, and one in the second half, to pick up a 4-0 home win over EMU.

Highlights
- 4' - The Marlins got on the board early in the first half, when Alexis Manfredi's shot found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. VWU continued to pepper Aja Laun with shots, but the senior keeper was able to pick up two saves to keep Wesleyan's lead at one.
- VWU added two more goals in the half, one in the 18th minute and one in the 41st minute, as they took a 3-0 lead into the break. Laun finished the half with four saves.
- The second half saw EMU's defense play hard, holding Virginia Wesleyan to just one score on four shots on goal, three of which were saved by Laun.
- Mary Kate Bomberger had a pair of shots for the Royals, but neither were able to connect to get EMU on the board.
