HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Royals Women's Soccer team was back in action on Wednesday, taking on the #12 ranked Generals of Washington and Lee.
W&L scored a pair of goals in the first half and two in the second, as they picked up a 4-0 win over EMU.

Highlights
- The Royals held the high-powered Generals offense in check to start the game, holding them without a shot on goal for the first eight minutes. In the ninth minute, W&L muscled a shot on net, but Aja Laun was there for the save.
- Laun added three more saves over the next 13 minutes, but W&L broke through in the 22nd minute. After a corner kick into the box, Sarah Zimmerman headed it to Maren Brown, whose header found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. The Generals added to their lead on a penalty kick in the 36th minute, as W&L took a 2-0 lead into the break.
- The Generals added two more goals in the second half, one in the 64th minute and then the final goal just over a minute later. Laun picked up six more saves in the half, but couldn't get anything going offensively as W&L finished with the win.
