ASHLAND, Va. - The Royals headed south on Wednesday, making the trip to the Richmond area to take on ODAC foe Randolph Macon.
The Yellow Jackets scored a trio of goals in the first half, but were shut out by the EMU defense in the second half, as RMC picked up the 3-0 win.

Highlights
- 3' - RMC got on the board quickly, as they found the back of the net in the third minute. Ally Spangler took a pass from Lora Bertram and found paydirt, to put Macon up 1-0. They added their second goal less than five minutes later, and their third goal in the 12th minute, to take a 3-0 lead less than 15 minutes into the game.
- EMU's first opportunity came in the 19th minute when Halie Mast was able to get a shot off, but it sailed right to keep EMU off the board. Aja Laun snagged five saves for the Royals, to keep the score at 3-0 heading into the half.
- Laun and the EMU defense continued to work hard in the second half, holding the Yellow Jackets scoreless, with Laun coming up with six more saves. EMU was able to grab some offensive momentum in the second half, as Mast, Mary Kate Bomberger, Leah Beachy and Shavia Davis all registered shots, but to no avail as RMC held on for the shutout.

EMU will continue its conference road trip on Saturday, when they head to Salem to take on Roanoke College. Kickoff against the Maroons is set for 1 pm.
