HARRISONBURG, Va. - With the season winding down, the Royals welcomed in Roanoke College to Yoder Arena on Wednesday, in EMU's next-to-last home matchup of the season.
Unfortunately, the Royals went cold from behind the arc, which allowed the Maroons to pick up a 70-41 win.

First Half
RC jumped out to a 6-0 lead before
Julien Hagerman got EMU on the board with a jumper in the paint. A pair of free throws from
Nick Ondrus cut the deficit to four, but Roanoke answered with a three to push their lead back to five. That was part of a 10-0 Maroons run that took up almost five minutes, before
Jazen Walker stopped the run with a layup. Roanoke was able to keep a double-digit lead until a until a 5-0 EMU run, highlighted by three points from
Aviwe Mahlong and two points from Walker off a steal, cut the Maroons lead to seven with 4:53 to play in the half. The lead hovered between nine and 11 until RC ended the half with the final three points for a 34-20 lead at the break.
Second Half
Isaiah Carr got the scoring started for EMU in the second half, hitting a jumper and making the score 34-22. Roanoke followed that up with an 11-0 tilt to double up the Royals but Carr sandwiched a RC three with four points of his own. The Maroons were able to extend their lead to as many as 33 late in the game, but threes from Mahlong and
Gabriel Campbell, along with a jumper from
Marcos Pradales, cut Roanoke's lead down for the game's final score.
