GREENSBORO, N.C. – EMU Men's Soccer took a trip to the Tar Heel State Saturday to take on Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. The Royals pulled off a 2-0 win over the Quakers with a combination of opportunistic scoring and stout defense, gaining three points in the ODAC table.

Highlights
- 22' | Senior co-captain Ariel Bonilla booted a corner into the box from the far side of the field. Mesa Dula then leapt up with a perfectly timed header, sending the ball into the lower left corner of the net to put the Royals up 1-0.
- 82' | With the minutes winding down, EMU looked to add some insurance to their lead. The Royals got their chance when Josiah King got hauled down by a Guilford defender inside the box, prompting a penalty kick. King took the PK himself, and even though the Quaker keeper got a piece of it, King put enough power on the shot to get it across the goal line, giving EMU the 2-0 lead.
- EMU outshot Guilford 11-5 on the night, including an 8-2 disparity in shots on goal.
- Goalkeeper Andrew Arledge recorded his fourth shutout in net so far this season, bringing his goals-against-average down to 0.89.
- With the win, the Royals move into sole possession of second place in the ODAC standings through Saturday's matches.
