BRIDGEWATER, Va. – EMU Men's Soccer sought to start October by continuing their recent winning ways in a road match against crosstown rival Bridgewater. Unfortunately, it was the Eagles who came out on top 3-0, handing the Royals their first ODAC loss of the season.

Highlights
- 44' | It looked as if the two teams would go into halftime scoreless, but then Bridgewater's Cole Dunbar snuck one by EMU goalkeeper Andrew Arledge to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the break.
- The Eagles padded their lead further in the second half with an unassisted goal by Ali Malik in the 57th minute, followed by a second goal by Dunbar in the 66th minute to give the match its 3-0 final score.
- The loss snaps a five-match unbeaten streak for the Royals, which started with a 3-1 win over Mary Baldwin back on Sept. 16.
- Despite the defeat, EMU still boasts a solid road record of 4-3 so far this season.
