LYNCHBURG, Va. – Looking for its first ODAC win of the season, EMU hit the road to Lynchburg Wednesday, taking on the WildCats of Randolph College.
RC took an early first-half lead but the Royals responded in the 55
th minute as the teams played to a 1-1 draw.

Highlights
- 19' – The Royals defense held Randolph without a shot on goal for the first 19 minutes of the game. But at the 18:28 mark, Joanne Torres' pass found a streaking Sterlyn Woodward, who got behind the defense and put her shot in the bottom right corner past the keeper, giving Randolph a 1-0 lead.
- The WildCats managed just three more shots in the first half, only one on goal, that was stopped by Anna Filipkowski. Randolph took a 1-0 lead into the half.
- 55' – Filipkowski two more saves in the 49th minute, keeping EMU down by just a goal. Six minutes later, in the 55th minute, Lyndsay Harris took a pass from Leah Beachy, made a move around the defender and fired a shot from the corner of the box, beating the WildCat keeper high right for the goal. That was Harris' second goal on the season.
- The Royals had a pair of chances later in the second half as Amiah Carter and Allie Hanson both put shots on net. But the WildCat keeper came up with a save on each to keep the tie intact.

EMU will return home on Saturday for its Rowdy Royals game, welcoming Hollins University to Harrisonburg for a 7 pm showdown. Saturday's game is also the Royals Ovarian Cancer Awareness Game.
