HARRISONBURG, Va. - On a rainy and cold Saturday, EMU welcomed Lynchburg to the Turf Field for its ODAC opener.
With the game tied at one at the half, Lynchburg added a pair of second-half goals to pick up a 3-1 win over EMU.

Highlights
- 14' - After a shot from Maria Bettilyon, that was saved by the Hornets keeper, along with a Hornet shot that was saved by Anna Filipkowski, Lynchburg got on the board first when Meghan Lauder's shot found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
- 44' - In the closing minutes of the first half, Leah Beachy found Amiah Carter, who put it past the Hornets keeper to tie the game at one. This was the Royals first goal against the Hornets since the 2013 season.
- 58' - Lynchburg took the lead 13 minutes into the second half on a goal from Leilianis Irigoyen from an assist by Ella Tampio-Iorns. They added an insurance goal in the 60th minute when Lauder added her second of the day.
