Women’s Soccer Goes Toe-To-Toe with DII Virginia State in 1-1 Draw

PETERSBURG, Va. – EMU Women's Soccer hopped on the bus to Petersburg for a Sunday matinee match with the Division II Virginia State. It was back-and-forth affair that ended with a 1-1 draw between the Royals and the Trojans.

  • 15' | Virginia St. got on the board first courtesy of a goal by Morgan Paris, assisted by Danica Carter. The Trojans hung on to their 1-0 lead going into the locker room at halftime.
  • 46' | The Royals did not take long to roar back in the second half, as Lyndsay Harris knocked in an unassisted effort for the equalizer.  
  • Both teams had their chances down the stretch, but no one could muster a game-winning goal.
  • EMU outshot Virginia St. 9-8 and went the whole afternoon without committing a foul.
