HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Royals field hockey team welcomed in Hood College on Wednesday, in the second of five-straight home contests.
After a scoreless first half, the Blazers scored three times in the third quarter to pick up a 3-0 win over EMU

Highlights
- The Royals defense clamped down in the first quarter, keeping the Blazers off the board with a pair of Gracyn Arruda saves. In the second quarter, Arruda came up with a trio of fantastic saves on back-to-back-to-back shots by Hood.
- EMU's best chance came five minutes before the half. Morgan Leslie got past the defense and put a shot on goal, but it was saved by the Blazers keeper. The deflection came to Sophia Armato, who also put a shot on goal, but that was saved as well, sending the teams to the half scoreless.
- 37' - Off a penalty corner, Kate Bentz deflected a shot past Arruda from Morgan Hackett, giving Hood a 1-0 lead. The Blazers added their second and third goals in the next second minutes, pulling ahead 3-0 after three.
- The Royals were held to just one more shot for the game but Arruda continued to be strong, picking up four more saves in the final frame.
