FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Royals wrapped up their trip through North Carolina on Sunday, taking on Methodist in a non-conference matchup.
The Monarchs used a pair of goals in the first half to pick up a 2-0 win over EMU.

Highlights
- Hannah Dellinger had EMU's first chance with a shot less than five minutes into the game. But it sailed wide to keep the game scoreless. Aja Laun added a pair of saves in the next few minutes to keep the Monarchs off the board.
- 23' - The scoreless tie was broken in the 23rd minute when MU's Yaneli Sanchez took a pass from Brooke Hunter and found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
- 25' - Less than two minutes later, Methodist added a second goal when Natalia Marshall-Hewitt's shot got past Laun, putting MU ahead 2-0.
- The Royals had a pair of chances in the final minutes as Lyndsay Harris and Leah Beachy each put a shot on goal, but Monarchs keeper Carolina Simpkins came up with the save.
