HARRISONBURG, Va. - EMU welcomed Randolph to the Burg Friday night, taking on the WildCats in both teams season openers.
It was a scoreless defensive battle through the first 53 minutes before Randolph's Madison Booker found the back of the net off a corner kick to propel them to a 1-0 win.

Highlights
- EMU's defense was the start of the show in the first half. The WildCats picked up seven shots in the first 21 minutes, but they were either off target, blocked or saved by Aja Laun, keeping the game scoreless.
- 27' - Hannah Dellinger picked up EMU's first shot of the game, but it sailed left off her foot. Neither team could find the back of the net as they went to the half knotted at zeroes.
- 54' - A corner kick from Randolph's Alana Ellis found the foot of Madison Booker who beat Ana Filipkowski, putting the WildCats up 1-0.
- 58' - EMU had its best chance of the game when Lyndsay Harris put a great shot on net, but the WildCat keeper came up with a strong save. The Royals were able to pick up a pair of shots but couldn't get a goal to tie the game.
