FERRUM, Va. - The Royals were on the road Saturday, heading down to Ferrum to take on the Panthers in an ODAC matchup.
EMU held a one-point lead at the half, but FC outscored the Royals by 18 in the final 20 minutes to pick up a 73-56 win.

First Half
Buckets from
Edixon Gomez Blanco and
Ty Peterson gave EMU an early lead before the Panthers picked up their first points. The teams then proceeded to trade points, with neither team able to pull ahead by more than three through the first 10 minutes. Ferrum then pulled ahead by four after a layup, but a jumper from
Jameel Davis and a layup from
Jalen Jones tied things at 25. Later, with Ferrum leading by two, back-to-back threes from
Nick Ondrus gave the Royals a four point lead before Ferrum scored and was able to cut the Royals lead to 34-33 at the half.
Second Half
Ferrum re-took the lead to start the second half before a three from Gomez Blanco put the Royals back on top. The teams traded points to 40-40 but then FC went on a 12-1 run, taking a 52-41 advantage at the 12:25 mark. Buckets from
Jazen Walker and
Julien Hagerman cut their lead to seven but the Panthers pushed it back to double digits and hit free throws down the stretch to lead by as many as 19. A layup from
Donovan Arnason cut the final deficit to 17 to end the game.
