HARRISONBURG, Va. – It was a big game atmosphere at the EMU Turf Field on Saturday, as the EMU Men's Soccer team took on Randolph College for the Rowdy Royals match. It was also Senior Day, as the Royals honored their five seniors in a ceremony prior to kick-off. On a windy day in front of a raucous crowd, Ford DeVault scored a goal early, and that was all the Royals would need to dispatch the Wildcats 1-0 and pick up three critical points in the ODAC standings.

Highlights

• 5' | DeVault intercepted an errant pass from a Randolph defender, attacked from the left of the box, and then knocked it in the net with his right foot to give EMU an early 1-0 lead that they would hold the rest of the way.
• DeVault's goal was his sixth of the season, already surpassing his total of five from last season.
• There were few good opportunities to score, as the two teams combined for only three shots on goal for the match.
• With five regular season matches left, the Royals already have their most wins in a season since 2018, when they went 9-9-1.
• With the win, EMU slots into fourth place in the ODAC standings going into next week's matches.
• Prior to the match, the men's soccer team honored their five graduating seniors: Oslyn Meija Gomez, Mesa Dula, Bryce Graf, Ariel Bonilla, and Josh Maloney.
