LYNCHBURG, Va. - EMU had a tall task ahead of it on Saturday, heading down to Lynchburg to take on the #12 Hornets in its 2023 road finale.
Lynchburg scored 42 seconds into the game and added more in each quarter en route to a 10-0 win over EMU.

Highlights
- Brooke Hyland got Lynchburg on the board less than a minute into the game after taking a pass from Aaryn Boatwright and putting it into the back of the cage for a 1-0 lead. Royals keeper Gracyn Arruda picked up five saves in the first quarter, but Lynchburg took a 5-0 lead after one.
- Arruda picked up 10 more saves in the second quarter, along with defensive saves from Libbie Derstine and Cassidy Armstrong, holding the Hornets to just one goal as Lynchburg took a 6-0 lead into the half.
- Lynchburg added four more goals in the second half, but for EMU highlights, the Royals added a pair of defensive saves from Rileyanne Collins.
