Royals Narrowly Fall to Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Royals played under the lights Tuesday night, heading south to Bridgewater to take on the Eagles.

It was a scoreless tie at the half, but a BC goal in the 32nd minute propelled them past EMU, 2-0.

Records: EMU 3-11, 0-6 ODAC | Bridgewater 6-6, 4-2 ODAC

Highlights
  • The strong play of Gracyn Arruda, and the Royals defense, kept the game scoreless in the first half. BC was held without a shot for the first five minutes before their first one made its way on cage. But Courtney Crawford was there for the defensive save to keep the Eagles off the board. Arruda finished the first quarter with five saves to help keep the game at 0-0.
  • In the second quarter, three more saves by Arruda kept the shutout intact. But, unfortunately for the Royals, their offense couldn't muster much momentum, as the game went into the half tied at zero.
  • Arruda came up with a pair of saves to start the second quarter, but a deflection off a save found the back of the cage, giving Bridgewater a 1-0 lead. They added a second insurance goal in the final seconds of the game to secure the win.
Statistical Leaders
