Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The EMU men's basketball team headed south Wednesday night, for their second ODAC game of the season, taking on Washington and Lee.
The Generals led by five at the half and outscored the Royals 24-16 in the final 9:34 to pick up a 74-65 win.

Highlights
First Half
After W&L took an early 3-0 lead, Julien Hagerman tied things with a three of his own at 17:39. With the Generals leading 8-5, EMU went on a 4-0 run with baskets from Landon Swingler and Michael Watlington to lead 9-8. Later in the half, back-to-back buckets from Swingler gave EMU a one-point lead. W&L was able to retake the lead and hold it, pulling ahead by as much as nine. But baskets from DaiJordan Brown and Watlington cut their lead to five. With three minutes left in the half, EMU went on a 4-0 run to pull within three but the Generals extended their advantage to seven with less than a minute left. Aviwe Mahlong hit a jumper with 40 seconds left to send the teams to the locker room with W&L holding a five-point lead.
Second Half
Out of the break, the teams traded points until four straight from Swingler and Hagerman pulled EMU within four, 46-42. W&L was able to keep a slight lead, but Swingler's hot night continued, hitting a jumper and-one to cut the deficit to three with 11 minutes to go. Mahlong made it a one-point game with just over nine minutes left, but the Generals responded with a 10-1 run to give themselves some cushion. Seven straight from Swingler and Hagerman pulled EMU within three but once again W&L went on a double-digit run, this time 10-0 to pull away.

The Royals will look to stay unbeaten at home and pick up their first ODAC win when they welcome Hampden-Sydney to Yoder Arena on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 pm.
