Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. - Saturday, after seven non-conference matchups, the EMU men's soccer team kicked off its ODAC slate against Lynchburg. The host Hornets used a trio of goals in the first half and a pair in the second to pick up a 5-1 win over EMU.
Highlights
- Lynchburg got on the board in the sixth minute when Luke Mega took a pass from Nick Foley and put it past the EMU keeper for a 1-0 lead.
- EMU, which was held to just one shot on goal for the match, picked that up in the 15th minute. Gabe Nafziger, off a Lynchburg foul, launched a free kick from 45 yards out, towards a streaking Ethan McGee. But the Hornet keeper was able to get his hands on it for the save before McGee was able to get his head on it.
- Lynchburg added their second goal in the 17th minute and their third in the 45th minute to take a 3-0 lead into the break. They added two more in the second half to move to 4-3-1, 1-0-0 while sending the Royals to 0-8-0, 0-1-0.
- Ahmed Zaatar finished with six saves on the day.

- 10 - Lynchburg outshot the Royals 11-1 on goal and 21-2 overall.
What's Next
EMU will be back at home on Tuesday when they welcome the Keydets of VMI to Harrisonburg. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
