Box Score READING, Pa. - Six days since their last game, the EMU men's soccer team continued their brutal road stretch to start this season. They headed north to Pennsylvania to take on Alvernia in a non-conference matchup. The Golden Wolves used single goals in the first and second half, while holding the Royals to just one shot on goal, to pick up a 2-0 win.
Highlights
- Ahmed Zaatar came out looking strong, along with the EMU defense, as they kept Alvernia off the board for the first 42 minutes, with Zaatar picking up six saves. The Golden Wolves took the lead on a goal in the 43rd minute to take a 1-0 lead into the half. Cole Ours had one shot for EMU before the break.
- Alvernia was once again held scoreless for most of the half before they added an insurance goal in the 81st minute to pick up the 2-0 win.
- Zaatar finished with 11 saves on 13 shots.

What's Next
After playing their first six matches of 2021 on the road, EMU will finally open their home slate on Tuesday. They'll square off with Mary Baldwin with the match slated to start at 7 pm.
