Box Score

HARRISONBURG, Va. - EMU field hockey kicked off its Homecoming festivities Saturday morning, taking on the Maroons of Roanoke College.

Unfortunately, for the Royals, Roanoke came to play HC spoiler, using two first half goals and four second half goals to pick up a 6-0 win over EMU.

Highlights

  • Ann Ghally was busy early, as Roanoke sent eight shots at the junior in the first quarter. Ghally was able to stop all, until the final minute of the frame when Roanoke was able to get on the board and take a 1-0 lead after the first.
  • Skylar Hedgepeth picked up EMU's first shot of the game in the sixth minute but wasn't able to beat the Maroon keeper.
  • Roanoke added a second goal in the 20th minute, but Ghally picked up nine more saves to keep the score at 0-2 heading into the half.
  • RC added two more goals in the third and fourth quarters to leave Harrisonburg with a 6-0 win. The loss drops EMU to 7-7, 0-4 ODAC.
  • Ghally finished with 21 saves, her second game of the season with at least 20 saves. She currently leads the ODAC with 108 saves on the season.
