Generals Blanks Soccer Men In Lexington

Box Score

The EMU soccer men ran into a brick wall Tuesday evening, falling 4-0 at Washington and Lee.  The Generals remain undefeated after nine games while Eastern Mennonite slips to 2-8 overall.

The Royals came out aggressively, attempting the game's first shots.  But W&L got the first goals, tacking in scores in the 26th, 34th and 38th minutes.

In the second half, the Generals added their final goal in the 54th minute, then sat back and suffocated EMU's attacks.

Shots were in favor of the home team, 17-7.  Parker Leap (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) fired two attempts, with one being on goal.  Daniel Friesen (Fresno, Ca./Edison) and Mark Mast (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) had the other on-target looks.

Andrew Yoder (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite)made four saves in the loss.

The Royals will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak when they host Randolph College this Saturday.  Game time against the nationally-ranked WildCats is 7:00pm.
