A day before, the EMU men used a late second-half goal to tie the game and earn a tie.  Sunday, the Royals fell behind again but couldn't find the late equalizer in a 1-0 loss to host Mary Washington at the UMW Soccer Classic.

The men had the only shot on goal in the first half, when Jordan Hollinger (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) had an attempt stopped by the Eagles' keeper in the 37th minute.

Both teams had some chances in the second, with UMW founding the net at the 62:49 mark.  Eastern Mennonite had their best look at an equalizer late, but Christian Rhine's (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) shot was saved with just 1:54 remaining and the men took the loss.

Although the Royals were out-shot, each team finished with two shots on goal.

The loss drops to the men to 0-1-1.  They have their home opener on Wednesday, playing host to Cairn at 7:00pm on the Turf Field.  The game follows a women's contest between the two schools.
