Eastern Mennonite is developing a habit this fall, albeit a good one.  Each of the men's wins this season have been by 2-0 shutouts, with Wednesday's victory over Shenandoah the most recent.

The Royals controlled the first half in Harrisonburg but couldn't get any shots into the net.

That changed in a hurry in the second.

EMU stilled controlled play and broke into the scoring column in the 57th minute.  After a corner kick, the SU defense knocked the ball out to the top of the box.  Christian Rhine (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) was right there to collect it and fire in a shot which deflected into the net from the keeper's hands.  It was the freshman's third straight game with a score.

Just three minutes later the Royals found goal again.  Mark Mast (Harrisonburg, VA/Eastern Mennonite) broke free at the top of the box, took a few dribbles and then found Caleb Golladay (Mt. Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) streaking in on his left.  It was an easy shot for Golladay, as his first goal of the season made it 2-0.

The defense held the rest of the way to earn the men their fourth 2-0 shutout of the season.

The Royals had a 25-9 edge in shots, including 10-2 on goal.  Keeper Andrew Yoder (Harrisonburg, VA/Eastern Mennonite) had two saves.

Adam Moyer (Harleysville, PA/Christopher Dock) led EMU with five shots.  Rhine had four, including three on goal.  The men also had a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Eastern Mennonite improves to 4-3-1 with the shutout, including 2-0 in the ODAC.  The Royals play a pair at home this weekend – conference foe Guilford Saturday at 7:00pm followed by Maryville at 3:00pm on Sunday.
