Eastern Mennonite made quick work of Emory & Henry this morning in the loser's bracket of the ODAC Softball Tournament, clubbing a 10-0 win in five innings.  The Lady Royals continue into the final four of the tourney, and will take on No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan today at 5:00pm in Salem, VA.

EMU, the ODAC's sixth seed, had split with No. 8 Emory & Henry just two weeks earlier at home, but made no doubt about it this time around.

Lisa Lee (Buckingham, VA/Buckingham County) got the ball rolling in the first with an infield single.  Courtney Allman (Mt. Solon, VA/Fort Defiance) hit a two-out double to bring Lee home for a 1-0 lead.

In the second, EMU sent 12 batters to the plate and scored seven times to blow the game open.  After the first two women were retired, Taylor Sellars (Powhatan, VA/Powhatan) hit a single up the middle.  Jordan Aylor (Madison, VA/Madison County) added a single and Brooke Hensley (Elkton, VA/Spotswood) singled to center to score one run.  Lee added a two-run double and then EHC unraveled.  Without another hit, the Lady Royals scored four more times, all unearned, to go up 8-0.

Molly Smith (Elkton, VA/Spotswood) doubled in Lee to make it 9-0 in the third, and Allman hit another double in the fifth to score Hensley for a 10-0 cushion.

As the starting pitcher, Lee only needed one of those runs, throwing a shutout from the circle.  She only allowed a total of five base runners in the two-hit blanking.

Eastern Mennonite banged out 10 hits, led by Lee going 3-3 with a walk.  She also stole a pair of bases and scored three times with another two RBIs.  Allman was 2-3 with a walk, two doubles and two RBIs.  Hensley finished 2-4 with two runs.  Smith was 1-3 with a walk, run and RBI.

The Lady Royals improve to 27-12, tying them with last year's team for second-most wins in program history.
