Box Score Less than 12 hours after a double overtime contest the night before, the Royals took on Elizabethtown Sunday morning at the Blue Jay Classic. The short turnaround was too much for the Eastern Mennonite men to overcome, as they took a 4-0 loss.
Because of the massive rains in Pennsylvania over the preceding week, the location and start times of the classic were changed, giving the Royals the tough draw.
Elizabethtown scored two goals in each half as Coach Roger Mast was forced to limit the playing time of some of his starters. The men were only out-shot by one, 12-11, although shots on goal were 5-2. The Royals did have an edge in corner kicks, 4-1.
Keeper Patrick Fox (Virginia Beach, VA/Kempsville) had one save in the loss.
Bryce Shank (Harrisonburg, VA/Eastern Mennonite) and Jared Ross (Sarasota, FL/Sarasota Christian) had the only shots on goal for EMU.
The Royals fall to 2-3-1 with the loss. They return for two home games this week, hosting Lebanon Valley Wednesday night and Emory & Henry Saturday afternoon.
