Softball at Rebel Spring Games Recap

The Eastern Mennonite University softball team is competing at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla. The Lady Royals will be playing in two games per day from Sunday, March 1 - Thursday, March 5. This link will provide you with details and game scores for all the games EMU is playing in and will be updated as information becomes available.
Sunday, March 1:
EMU won its first game of the season with a 4-2 win over Walsh University. The Lady Royals then stumbled out of the gates against Ferrum College in route to suffering a 6-3 loss to the Panthers.
Monday, March 2:
The Lady Royals came up on the short end of 8-0 and 7-0 losses to York College (Pa.) and Muhlenberg College during the second day of competition. The losses drop EMU's record to 1-3 on the year.
Tuesday, March 3:
EMU claimed a 8-2 win, their second of the 2009 season, against Methodist University in the first game of the day. Adrian College (Mich.) then claimed a 4-1 victory over the Lady Royals in the second game of the day, dropping EMU to 2-3 overall on the season.
Wednesday, March 4:
The Lady Royals swept a non-conference double header during the fourth day of competition at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla. EMU took the first game 8-0 over Misericordia and then won the second game 13-1 over the Catholic University of America. The back-to-back wins push the Lady Royals' record to 4-4 on the season.
Thursday, March 5:
EMU won the first game against Husson College before finishing out the Rebel Spring Games with an 8-1 loss to Augustana (Ill.) College. The softball team is now 5-5 on the season and will compete next in the Ferrum Tournament when they go up against Meredith and Baruch Colleges on Saturday, March 14, followed by a pair of games against Greensboro and Maryville Colleges on Sunday, March 15.
