Johnson, Hinson Snag All-ODAC Honors

George Johnson (Richmond, Va./Miller School) was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference First Team while sophomore wing
D.J. Hinson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) was named to the All-ODAC Second Team as announced at the conference banquet on Thursday, February 26.
Randolph-Macon's Justin Short was named the ODAC Player of the Year while Randolph College forward Derrick Woods-Morrow was named the ODAC Rookie of the Year. Short is second in the conference in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game, and leads the ODAC in minutes played (33), assists (80), steals (33), and three-point percentage (36 percent). He also notched two 30+ point games this past season.
Woods-Morrow collects the first major ODAC award in the two year history of men's basketball at Randolph College. Woods-Morrow led his team and ranks second in the ODAC in rebounds per game at 8.9, while posting 10 double-doubles (second in conference).
Guilford College head coach Tom Palombo was named to the top coaching honors in the ODAC after guiding the men's basketball team to a 21-4 overall record and a 14-2 mark in the conference. Palombo shared the award in 2004 with its new namesake, Bob Johnson, and it is the third time in six year's that Palombo has received the award. Last year Palombo guided the Quakers to the ODAC Championship, claiming the title, while leading the team to the NCAA Tournament.
The ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar Athlete of the Year was awarded to Washington & Lee's senior forward Ben Heller. Heller led the Generals in both scoring (10.5 points per game) and rebounds (5.0 rebounds per game) while scoring a career-high 24 points in an overtime loss to Bridgewater. Heller appeared in all 24 games for W&L, starting five. Heller has a 3.47 grade point average and is majoring in accounting.
