Royals Rebound, Defeat Philadelphia Biblical 3-1

Following a tough loss to King College (Tenn.) on Wednesday night the Eastern Mennonite University men's volleyball team got a measure of revenge and took out their fustrations on Philadelphia Biblical University as the Crimson Eagles fell victim to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Royals Saturday night in Langhorne, Pa.

Game scores were 30-27, 30-22, 24-30, and 30-25.

EMU improves to 4-2 on the season and moves to 1-0 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Western Division. PBU drops to 2-4 on the year, 0-1 in the conference.

Cody Kennedy (Newport News, Va./Menchville) led the way with 19 kills and 10 digs for his second career double-double. Sophomore setter Shane Holderby (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) totaled 44 assists, seven kills, two solo blocks, and three assisted blocks for EMU.

John Bottles (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) had nine kills while senior libero Cory Parsons (Colmar, Pa./Christopher Dock) recorded eight digs.

The Royals next match will be on Tuesday, February 3, as they travel to Stevenson, Md., to take on the Mustangs of Stevenson University, formerly known as Villa Julie College.
