#15 Elizabethtown Defeats #19 EMU in a Field Hockey Battle

#15 Elizabethtown College improved to 8-1 overall following a 4-0 win over #19 Eastern Mennonite University in a battle between two National Field Hockey Coaches Association ranked field hockey programs.

EMU, which still sits atop the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 2-0 record, drops to 7-2 overall on the season.

Elizabethtown improves to 8-1 overall.

The Blue Jays compete in the Commonwealth Conference.

The Lady Royals hung with the Blue Jays throughout the contest with EMU only down 10-13 in overall shots. Elizabethtown scored their first goal of the game in the 19th minute off the stick of Brenna Noon. Noon later added another goal in the first period almost 10 minutes later to push the home team lead to 2-0.

Blue Jays' Andrea Miles and Alison Duval capped the scoring for Elizabethtown in the second frame, scoring in the 48th and 60th minute respectively.

EMU goalkeeper, and Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week Becky Nolt (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) had five saves in the loss.

The Lady Royals held a slight 7-5 advantage in penalty corners.

The field hockey team will be back in action on Friday, October 3, for an ODAC game against the Generals of Washington & Lee. The game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
