Junior pitcher Jamie Fraysher (Waterford, Va./Loudoun Valley) pitched a complete game no-hitter in game two for Eastern Mennonite University as the softball team swept the Mary Baldwin College Fighting Squirrels 8-6, and 11-0 in a non-conference double header.

EMU is now 16-5 overall this season while Mary Baldwin falls to 2-17 on the year.

The game two no-hitter is the second in Fraysher's career as she shut down the Knights of Southern Virginia on April 10, of last season, allowing only two walks in five innings in route to being named the ODAC Pitcher of the Week.

Senior shortstop Miranda White (Verona, Va./Fort Defiance) was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in game one for EMU while junior second baseman Mandee Madden (Winchester, Va./John Handley) had two hits in two trips to the plate with two runs scored and an RBI.

Sophomore righthander Nicole Wade (Madison Heights, Va./Liberty Christian) pitched the complete game for EMU, picking up her team leading seventh win of the season.

EMU scored a run each in the first and second innings before adding two and three runs each in the fourth and sixth innings to take a 7-2 lead into the top of the seventh. Freshman first baseman Jessica Sullivan (Midloathian, Va./Manchester) had an RBI ground out for EMU in the top half of the inning to give the visiting Lady Royals a comfortable 8-2 lead. The Fighting Squirrels lived up to their team nickname as they opened up for four runs in the bottom of the seventh with Carolyn Majchszak and Christine Hamilton each knocking in two runs with RBI singles. Wade settled down and squashed the comeback attempt by getting Jessica Brown to ground out to end the game.

Senior Anna Coleman (Fairfield, Va./Rockbridge) was 1-for-1 with a run scored while senior leftfielder Natasha Viafora (Stanley, Va./Page Co.) scored two more runs for EMU.

In game two, the Lady Royals were led by a stellar pitching performance in the circle by Fraysher as she went the distance and picked up her fourth win of the year, shutting out the Fighting Squirrels through six innings while registering five strikeouts.

EMU scored four runs in the first and then opened up for six runs in the top of the six inning with Fraysher hitting an RBI single while Madden had an RBI groundout. Madden and sophomore Brittany Caricofe (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) each went 2-for-5 from the plate while sophomore third baseman Nicole Shelton (Richmond, Va./Mills E. Godwin) was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Sullivan had another two RBIs in game two while going 2-for-4.

The Lady Royals will stay on the road as EMU will travel to Lynchburg, Va., to take on the Vixens of Sweet Briar College on Thursday, March 27, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference double header scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
