Eastern Mennonite University junior forward Carolyn Riley (Warrenton, Va./Liberty-Bealeton) was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team as announced by the Conference of Sports Information Directors of America on Friday, February 8.

Nominees are required to be a full-time student, maintain a grade point average of 3.2 or above, and be a significant contributor or starter on their respective team.

Riley is averaging a team best 16.8 points per game as the Lady Royals are 15-4 overall this year and 11-3 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. She also leads the team in rebounds (7.0 rpg), and is second on the team with 12 blocks. Riley has registered two double doubles this season and tied a career high with 25 points in a win over Roanoke College on January 4.

The EMU women's basketball team will host the Wasps of Emory & Henry College tonight, February 8, in Yoder Arena at 7 p.m.
