Royals Fall in Shootout 108-95

Emory & Henry brought there high scoring offense to Eastern Mennonite and had four different shooters score in double-figures as the Wasps improved to 14-8, 10-6 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 108-95 win over the EMU men's basketball team.
Emory & Henry took a 10 point lead into the break after shooting 28 three-pointers in the first half. Shavar Bland led the team in scoring with 11 points while Cain Landreth had another nine points for E&H.
EMU was paced by junior
Brad Parkes (Winchester, Va.) who scored 28 points while pulling down nine boards. Parkes responded to the up-tempo style of play that Emory & Henry features by scoring a team-high 18 points in the first half.
Freshman
Austin Twine (Dublin, Va.) recorded a career-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field including four assists and two steals. Freshman
Yanni El' DeJesus (Caguas, Puerto Rico) gave the Royals another 12 points and eight boards while senior
Jason Sager (Edinburg, Va.) had eight points and a team best 10 rebounds and five assists.
The Royals kept the game close in the second half and pulled to within four points with 15 minutes to play. The Wasps though pulled away as Lance Reasbeck hit of his team-high five three-pointers of the game to push the E&H lead back up to seven.
EMU now takes a short break as the Royals will play host to Guilford College on Sunday, February 11, with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m.
