Seniors Frances Pfister (Madison Heights, Va./New Covenant) and Megan Good (Quito, Ecuador/Prairie) each recorded double-digits in kills as the Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team beat Shenandoah University 3-1 Tuesday evening in Harrisonburg, Va.

The win pushes the Lady Royals record to 7-16 overall on the season. Shenandoah falls to 7-14 on the year.

EMU cruised through the first two games as Good and Pfister led the offense with 11 and seven kills respectively. Junior setter Sara Hoffman (Leesburg, Fla./Leesburg) had a total of 27 assists and seven digs in the first two games.

Game three proved to be a struggle for the Lady Royals as a potent offensive attack and key EMU errors led to a third game loss. Jessi Johnson had a team-high four kills while Michelle Chandler and Chevon Parker each had another three kills.

The Lady Royals rebounded in game four as Pfister and senior Courtney Miller (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) led the team with three kills a piece with freshman Jenny Blosser (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) collecting 10 digs.

Pfister finished the game with 14 kills in 26 attempts for a .462 hitting percentage while Good registered a .483 hitting percentage (15 kills, 29 attempts).

"Megan and Fran each had strong games for us and that was really the key to our success," added EMU coach Steve Benson. "We now look at Bridgewater on Thursday and even Goshen during homecoming weekend and look forward to the challenge of facing those teams."

The Lady Royals will travel down to Bridgewater, Va., on Thursday, October 9, for a 6:30 p.m. showdown with the Eagles.
