The 20th ranked (D3Hoops.com) Guilford College Quakers used a 51 point second half to defeat the Eastern Mennonite University men's basketball team 79-69 Sunday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.

Sophomore guard LeRoger Parrish (Danville, Va.) had a team-high 16 points on the day for EMU while senior Jason Sager (Edinburg, Va.) and junior Brad Parkes (Winchester, Va.) also chipped in another 15 points each with Sager collecting seven rebounds while Parkes added another six boards for the Royals.

The 15 points by Sager today coupled with the 26 points yesterday against Emory & Henry gives the senior forward 1,575 points, moving him into fourth place all-time on the EMU career points list.

The Royals took a six point lead into the half thanks to Sager and Parkes who each had seven points while freshman John Overstreet (Forsyth, Ga.) recorded six points and three steals in the half.

In the second half, Parrish came on strong for EMU pacing the Royals with 11 points, but it was the play of Thomas Burge, Jordan Snipes, and Ben Strong that eventually gave the Quakers the lead and the contest. Strong finished with a team-high 18 points and eight boards while Burge and Snipes had 16 and 12 points respectively.

Freshman Yanni El' DeJesus (Caguas, Puerto Rico) tallied seven points and seven boards for EMU.

The Royals fall to 5-10 overall on the season and 1-8 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference while the Quakers improve to 13-2 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

The Royals will now head home as they will face off against Washington & Lee on Wednesday, January 24th, at 7 p.m.
