Sophomore Miranda White had five hits for the afternoon to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a double header sweep over Mary Baldwin College 7-0 and 6-1 in non-conference softball action on Friday afternoon in Staunton, Va.

Sophomore Natasha Viafora (Stanley, Va.) carried a no-hitter into the seventh-inning of the first game before surrendering two hits in the inning. She went on to record the shutout as EMU (8-8) defeated MBC (0-8) 7-0. Viafora improved to 4-4 on the season.

Sophomore Laura Bomberger (Harrisonburg, Va.) had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs for EMU. Freshman Brooke McCormick (Buena Vista, Va.) also had a double and a single and collected two RBIs. White (Verona, Va.), sophomore Anna Coleman (Fairfield, Va.), and sophomore Hayley Shepard (Grottoes, Va.) each tallied two hits.

In the second game, freshman Jamie Fraysher (Waterford, Va.) improved to 4-4 as she scattered seven hits over seven innings in a 6-1 victory. White had three hits, including two doubles. Shepard had a double and two RBIs while freshman Mandee Madden (Winchester, Va.) added a single and two RBIs.

EMU will travel to Fredericksburg, Va. on Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader at the University of Mary Washington.
