EMU Falls at EHC 115-104 in Men's Basketball

Junior Korey Townsend led all players with 30 points as Emory & Henry College defeated Eastern Mennonite University 115-104 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Sunday afternoon in Emory, Va.
Townsend (South Boston, Va.) made 11-of-13 field goal attempts for EHC (6-8, 2-5 ODAC). He was 3-for-4 on three-pointers as the Wasps attempted 61 from long range in their up-tempo scheme. Freshman Camillo Weinz (Radford, Va.) had 19 points while sophomore Shavar Bland (Newport News, Va.) contributed 10 points.
The Wasps caused 39 EMU (7-8, 3-6 ODAC) turnovers while tallying 26 steals. EHC shot 39.1% from the floor. EMU led in rebounds 59-36 and shot 64.2% from the floor, but made just one three-point field goal, compared to 17 for EHC. The Royals held a 61-48 halftime lead but were outscored 67-43 in the second period.
Junior center Jason Lentz (Diana, W.Va.) had a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards to lead the Royals. Junior forward Jason Sager (Edinburg, Va.) had a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Senior forward E.J. Arrington (Staunton, Va.) had 17 points. Sophomore Korey Whiting (Stafford, Va.) tallied 14 points, six boards, and seven assists while sophomore Brad Parkes (Winchester, Va.) added 14 points.
EMU will next host Southern Virginia in a non-conference game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
