EMU Defeats Emory & Henry 88-84 in Men's Basketball

Jason Sager had his ninth double-double of the year with 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead Eastern Mennonite University to an 88-84 victory over Emory & Henry College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Sunday in Harrisonburg, Va.

EMU improved to 9-5 overall and 6-3 in conference games. E&H fell to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the ODAC.

Sager's 29 points and 15 rebounds were each game-highs. The sophomore forward also had five assists. Freshman Brad Parkes continued a solid week with 18 points and four assists. He averaged 26.3 points per game in four games during the week. Freshman Korey Whiting had 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals.

Five players scored in double figures for the Wasps, led by freshman Davon Jones's 21 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Lance Reasbeck had 16 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Sophomore Hank Luton had 12 points, three assists, and four steals. Senior Paul Redgate had 11 points, three assists, and three steals while sophomore Korey Townsend added 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Junior Will Schwartzstein had a team-high 12 rebounds along with seven points.

EMU will have the rest of the week off before hosting rival Bridgewater College on Saturday at 7 p.m.
