HARRISONBURG, Va. – The EMU softball team split a double header with the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon Sunday afternoon at Gehman Field at Eastern Mennonite. The Lady Royals won the first game 6-5 but were defeated in the second game 11-14. The win in the first game guarantees the Lady Royals a birth into the Old Dominion Athletic Conference playoffs.

Tessa Grubb (Elliott City, Md./Seton Keough) would pitch the complete game going seven innings while striking out two. Grubb would also go 2 for 4 from the dish with a run scored and an RBI while Emily Lam (Elkton, Va./Spotswood) would go 2 for 3 with a RBI and run scored.

Allittaeh Robinson would go 2 for 3 for the Yellow Jackets with a run scored in the loss.

In the second game the Lady Royals would find themselves down by three runs quickly after the first inning. EMU would respond in the bottom half of the second inning capped off by a bases clearing double by Lam plating Sabrina Tusing (Broadway, Va./Broadway) and Ti'Sha Scruggs (Amhurst, Va./Amhurst Co.).

Randolph-Macon offense would prove to be too much for the Lady Royals to overcome as Morgan Austin and Robinson would team to score seven times on the day with Austin going 4 for 4 from the dish with two RBI's while Robinson would add another two RBI's on three hits.
