Senior Molly Harrington scored two goals to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a 2-1 victory over Roanoke College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference field hockey match on Tuesday in Salem, Va.

After a scoreless halftime tie, Harrington put EMU (3-7, 3-2) on top just 50 seconds into the second half on a goal assisted by freshman Lauren Michel. Roanoke (5-4, 1-1) responded two minutes later to tie the score on a goal by freshman Ashley Chambers assisted by freshman Liz Hudson. However, Harrington would strike again for the game-winner unassisted with just 4:20 remaining in the match.

Junior Christina Bender had four saves in goal to earn the victory. Sophomore Kelly Boyd notched five saves in picking up the loss for Roanoke. Both teams had 16 shots while EMU had 12 corners compared to four for RC.

The Lady Royals will square off with preseason ODAC favorite Virginia Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00 p.m. as part of EMU Homecoming weekend.
