The Lady Royals fell to the Quakers of Guilford College in the first game of what was supposed to be
Harrisonburg, Va. - In EMU softball action, the Lady Royals fell to the Quakers of Guilford College in the first game of what was supposed to be a double-header today by a score of 10-0. The Royals needed a sweep of Guilford to qualify for the six-team ODAC Tournament while Guilford needed only one win to clinch the sixth seed, and a sweep of EMU would move the Quakers into the fifth spot in the tournament.
There was no decision in the second game as it was called due to bad weather and deteriorating field conditions. It is unclear as to when or if the second game will be made up.
With the loss the Royals fall to 5-20 on the season, 3-12 in the ODAC. Guilford improves to 12-17 on the year, 6-9 in the ODAC.
