Phil Guengerich is in his 11th year working in Athletic Events.Prior to beginning this position in 2000, Phil worked for 30 yearsas a fifth-grade teacher at Linville-Edom Elementary School.

Phil attended Eastern Mennonite College, graduating with aBachelor of Science degree in 1970. He played soccer in 1966 and1967. Phil has a wife, Susan, and three grown children.

A benefit of Phil’s job that he enjoys is his friendshipswith EMU students. He also enjoys sports, gardening, and makingdoughnuts and homemade bread. His favorite quote is “If youare going to do something, give it your best effort.”
