Joe Taylor

Joe Taylor was named the Royals Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in June, 2024. He oversees the sports performance training for all 17 of the Royals NCAA DIII teams.

Taylor graduated from Appalachian State University in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coaches Certification.

Before coming to EMU, he had experience with Division I Strength and Conditioning programs at Mississippi State University and Appalachian State University, where he worked with Olympic Sports teams such as baseball, basketball, track and field, volleyball, field hockey, and more. He also has worked in the private sports performance sector at Appalachian Regional Healthcare as well as Mountaineer Performance in Boone, NC and most recently, prior to EMU, at ETS Performance in Madison, WI.
