FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its slate of weekly awards for the week of Sept. 1-7 on Tuesday afternoon. Erin Loker, a junior from Harrisonburg, was named ODAC Women's Runner of the Week, per a release on the ODAC website.

Loker finished in the top five in both of EMU's races during their first week of competition. In the Eagles Cross Country Challenge at Bridgewater College on Tuesday, Sept. 1, Loker won the women's 4k (2.49 miles) with a blazing fast time of 16:14.9, besting runner-up Olivia Morra of Bridgewater by 22 seconds. Four days later, Loker placed fifth at EMU's home meet, newly renamed as the Roland & Darlene Landes Invitational. Loker completed the 5k (3.1 miles) course in a time of 19:48.9, and she was the top ODAC runner in the meet.

Loker and the rest of the EMU Cross Country team have the week off before they return to the course on Saturday, Sept. 19 for the NCAA Division III South Region Preview meet, hosted by the University of Lynchburg at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.
