HARRISONBURG, Va. - EMU, coming off a 3-0 week, welcomed in the Eagles of Bridgewater College to Yoder Arena on Wednesday.
BC, who is receiving votes in the latest AVCA DIII poll, was able to pick up the 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-19) win over EMU, but not without the Royals giving Bridgewater all they could handle in front of a packed crowd.

Highlights
- It was a tightly contested first set, with EMU holding a 10-9 lead through the first 19 points, after a big kill from Lindsay Bly. The Eagles won five of the next six points, but EMU continued to fight, tying things at 15 after kills from Logan Turchetta and Hannah Hensley. Later in the set, with Bridgewater leading 21-17, EMU reeled off four straight points, highlighted by an Emerson Moats ace and a block from Bly and Emma Rogers. But BC would wrap up the set, winning four of the final five points for a 1-0 lead.
- EMU's offense came out swinging to start the second, leading 6-3 after kills from Hensley, Bly, Rogers and Ella Lambert. EMU would continue to lead up to 11-10, but the Eagles went on an 8-3 tilt, pulling out in front 18-14. After a BC point and an Ella Ollet kill made it 19-16, Bridgewater went on a 4-0 run to give themselves some breathing room. EMU won two more points, including on a block from Bly and Hensley, but an attack error put the Eagles ahead 2-0.
- Once again, it was the Royals jumping out to an early lead on the visitors, leading 6-4 after a Rebekah Allen ace and a block from Lambert and Rogers. The teams would trade points to EMU leading 9-8, but Bridgewater answered with a 5-0 run for a 13-9 lead. EMU, like they had done all match, kept fighting and went on an 8-5 advantage, using kills from Bly, Rogers and Kassidy Meadows, to pull within one. Bridgewater responded with a 6-1 tilt before a kill from Bly stopped BC's run. It was only temporary, however, as an Eagle kill wrapped up the match.

What's Next
EMU is back in action on Saturday when they head to Baltimore for a tri-match. They'll take on Penn St. Abington at 1:00 pm before finishing with the hosts, Goucher College, at 3:00 pm.
