HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Royals field hockey team welcomed in the Yeowomen of Oberlin College on Saturday, with both teams looking to pick up their first win.
Oberlin used a pair of goals in both the first and second quarters, and held the Royals to just two shots on goal, as OC picked up a 4-0 win.

Highlights
- Oberlin got on the board less than four minutes into the game, after a scrum in front of the cage ended with Clare Kammeier finding the back of the net for a 1-0 Oberlin lead. Emma Huante picked up four big saves, but the Yeowomen offense was relentless, adding a second goal after a penalty corner, for a 2-0 advantage.
- OC added their second two goals at 15:40 and 16:28 in the second quarter, to take a 4-0 lead. The Royals best chance came in quick succession, as Jada Gibson put back-to-back shots on goal, but they were both saved to keep the Royals off the board. Terranie Bennett came up huge for EMU's defense, picking up two defensive saves to send the teams to the locker room with Oberlin leading 4-0.
- Huante added three more saves in the third and fourth quarters, and Camryn Lohr added two shots that both went wide, as neither team was able to find the back of the cage in the second half, as the Yeowomen escaped with the win.

EMU will be off for the next eight days, before returning to the field next Sunday against Washington & Jefferson. Gametime against the Presidents is set for 1:00 pm.
