HARRISONBURG, Va. - The reverse sweep was so close you could almost taste it.
After falling behind 2-0, EMU won sets three and four, forcing a fifth and final set. In the final set, the atmosphere was electric in front of the home crowd, but McDaniel was able to squeak out the set win, and a 3-2 (25-17, 26-24, 17-25, 24-26, 15-12) win over EMU.

Highlights
Set One: McDaniel 25, EMU 17
- EMU took a 4-3 lead to start the match, using three Green Terror errors and a Logan Turchetta kill. McDaniel answered with an 11-3 run, taking a 14-7 advantage.
- McDaniel would push their lead to 20-10, but EMU continued to fight, using kills from Kenley Smith and Emma Rogers, along with five McDaniel errors, to keep chipping away at the lead. But The Green Terror would finish out the set, and take a 1-0 lead, on an EMU service error.
Set Two: McDaniel 26, EMU 24
- The teams were even to six apiece, before EMU grabbed a three-point lead with a pair of errors and a Turchetta kill.
- They would hold the lead to 13-12, and then the teams swapped points to a Kaitlyn Custis service ace and an 18-17 Royals lead. Both teams flip-flopped points to a 22-21 EMU advantage, before McDaniel made their move, winning the next three points to force set point, 24-22.
- EMU used an error and a block from Custis and Rogers to send the set to extra points, but the Green Terror won the final two points for a 2-0 lead.
Set Three: EMU 25, McDaniel 17
- Trailing 7-4 to start the third, EMU grabbed the momentum with a 7-2 run, highlighted by kills from Rogers, Turchetta and Custis.
- Later in the set, with things tied at 12, the Royals went on another big run, this time 8-1, using three Jada Parker kills, a Lindsay Bly kill and two Custis service aces, to take a 20-13 lead.
- McDaniel was able to pull within five, 22-17, but EMU finished out the set, taking advantage of two errors and a Custis kill to take the third set.
Set Four: EMU 26, McDaniel 24
- It looked like McDaniel would finish things out in four, taking an 11-4 lead in the fourth. EMU fought back, cutting their deficit to two with a 5-0 run, including back-to-back kills from Rogers and a big block from Turchetta and Rogers.
- Later in the set, with the Green Terror leading 15-11, EMU took their first lead since 2-0, going on a 5-0 tilt, highlighted by two monster kills from Custis. McDaniel answered and re-took the lead, pushing it back to four at 22-18.
- The Royals reeled off six straight points, with four GT errors and kills from Smith and Mckenzie Taylor, to pull to set point, 24-22. McDaniel won the next two points to force extras, but back-to-back errors tied things at two sets apiece.
Set Five: McDaniel 15, EMU 12
- McDaniel jumped out to an early 6-1 lead and would keep the lead at four, 10-6 and 11-7.
- Two Green Terror errors and kills from Emma Rogers and Kenley Smith sandwiched a McDaniel kill, pulling EMU within one, at 12-11 and bringing the crowd to their feet.
- Back-to-back McDaniel kills gave them match point at 14-11, but Lindsay Bly's kill kept EMU alive, albeit for just one more point, as a kill wrapped up the win for McDaniel.

EMU will be back on the court on Saturday, when they head to Baltimore to take on Notre Dame of Maryland. First serve against the Gators is set for 3:00 pm.
